Carlton won’t remain stagnant as a significant roster turnover takes place this off-season, with the club launching a bid to steal a young midfielder from West Coast.
Campbell Chesser will now have two offers to consider entering free agency, as 7 News’ Mitch Cleary reported on Tuesday that the 22-year-old is now garnering attention from the Blues despite having a two-year deal on the table from West Coast.
Essendon have reportedly also “expressed a level of interest” in Chesser, though the Blues are deemed to be frontrunners to acquire his talents, should he depart Western Australia.
The Sandringham Dragons product has played 36 AFL games in his career, but featured in only four fixtures in 2025 due to an ankle injury that he elected to have surgery on in February.
Chesser was in career-best form across those four matches, however, averaging 16.8 disposals, 2.3 clearances and 3.3 marks per game. He also excelled while returning through the WAFL, collecting 20-plus disposals on three occasions.
