HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston head golf coach Brandt Kieschnick has announced the hiring of Rosa Barnak as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
“We are extremely excited to have Rosa Barnak join the Bearkat Golf Program,” Kieschnick said upon the hiring. “Rosa was a very good collegiate player and has already made a great impact in the coaching ranks. She helped coach both men and women at ULM to success and will bring a great work ethic and passion to our golf program.”
Barnak has spent the last three seasons on staff at ULM and will take over as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach for the Bearkats.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Sam Houston Golf and honored to become part of such a successful program,” Barnak said. “I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the team, both on and off the course. I’m incredibly grateful to Coach Kieschnick and Coach Leroux for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to become a Bearkat.”
Barnak played collegiately at FAU where she saw tremendous success as a player. She left her mark on the Owls’ program as its all-time leader in rounds played (107.5) and is second all-time in birdies (207) along with closing her career sixth all-time in scoring average.
After her playing days in Boca Raton, Barnak served as the graduate assistant coach at ULM from August 2023 – December 2024. She transitioned to the program’s golf analyst in January 2025 and served in this role until June of 2025. In her role at ULM, Rosa served the team in its development, strategy and team performance.
Barnak’s efforts helped the ULM Women’s Golf team win the 2024 Great River Cup and helped coach the Warhawks to back-to-back match-play appearances and two straight semifinal appearances (2024, 2025) in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
In her stint in Monroe, Daniela Campillo qualified individually for the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional in 2024. That season the Warhawks finished No. 82 in the country with two players – Campillo and Anna Andrysove – receiving All-Sun Belt first and second team honors.
In her role as analyst, Barnak also, served the men’s team and helped ULM win two titles in the 2024-25 season. Individually, Louis Anceaux was selected to the All-Sun Belt first team before earning an individual to the NCAA Auburn Regional.
A native of Humlebaek, Denmark, Barnak holds a marketing degree from Florida Atlantic University and is on schedule to receive a graduate degree from ULM in Business Administration.
