Dave Lowry is coming aboard as an assistant coach, the team announced on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, ex-assistant Brad Larsen won’t return to the organization for family reasons.

Lowry, the father of Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry, spent the past three seasons as an assistant with the Seattle Kraken.

The Sudbury, Ont., native has also had tenures as an assistant with the Jets and Los Angeles Kings in addition to a previous three-year stint with the Flames beginning in 2009.

Lowry, 60, played 19 seasons in the NHL from 1985 until 2004, suiting up in over 1,000 games between the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks and Flames.

He rounds out a staff that includes head coach Ryan Huska and assistants Trent Cull, Cail MacLean, Jamie Pringle (video) and Jason LaBarbera (goaltending).
