Kim Kardashian is facing a fierce new wave of backlash after her 12-year-old daughter, North West, stepped out with a risky hand piercing that some critics say looks like it could be infected.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted what appears to be a dermal finger piercing on her middle finger during a recent Rome getaway. A dermal piercing, or anchor piercing, anchors jewelry underneath a layer of skin. The piercings, unlike conventional piercings, do not have an exit point, according to WebMD.

According to piercing and jewelry company, Lulu Ave,  this particular piercing also “may not heal well due to the constant use of the hands and the risk of the jewelry getting snagged or bumped,” states piercing and jewelry company, Lulu Ave.

Photos obtained by Page Six show a concerning red bump near North’s jewelry.

“Who the f**k lets their 12 year old have piercings?” blasted one Reddit user. “And who the f**k pierces a 12 year old? My kid didn’t even have her ears pierced at 12!”

“Oof that looks like it’s infected!!” wrote another user,

This drama is just the latest flashpoint in Kardashian’s ongoing parenting controversies. As Globe recently reported, the 44-year-old reality star’s ex-husband, Kanye West, is “ranting and raving” about Kardashian letting North wear provocative outfits during their recent Italian vacation.

West thinks “she’s way too young to be parading around like this,” said an insider. “It needs to stop, or he’ll raise hell with the lawyers.”

The insider added that the rapper, 48, is “not happy about being out of control” when it comes to his daughter’s image, even as he continues dressing wife Bianca Censori in barely-there looks.

Meanwhile, Kardashian’s “no homework” education philosophy has also sparked fierce debate, with critics slamming her privileged perspective on parenting.
