It’s been 11 days since Rampage Jackson’s son, Raja Jackson, viciously assaulted pro wrestler Syko Stu (real name: Stuart Smith) at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event in Los Angeles. The incident left Stu bloodied, hospitalized, and in “serious condition.”
Rampage, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight champion, has spent the past week condemning his son’s actions while also pointing blame toward the promotion for what he calls a reckless environment. But during a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Jackson revealed he hasn’t spoken to Raja since the night of the assault — and doesn’t plan to anytime soon.
“I don’t f—k with Raja right now. I’m mad at him,” Jackson said. “I’m here for his legal fees, but Raja wants to be an adult, he wants to do things his way. He won’t take my advice, I can’t make him do anything. Look, he’s my son, I love him dearly, but he dishonored my name. I can’t even put into words how upset I am with my son. He dishonored my name. I’ve been in this sport for a long time, and when he did what he did, everything said, ‘Son of MMA’s Rampage.’ That’s my f—king name. I don’t do that shit. I don’t go around beating people up on the street.”
While clearly upset, Rampage admitted he’s conflicted about how to handle his son’s situation.
“I am worried about his well-being,” Rampage continued. “But he dishonored my name. I know he’s my f—king son and I’m not cutting him off forever. I just haven’t talked to him. I talked to him after the shit happened, and he hid the fact that he did this. He put my other kids in danger. I’m not saying I’m never going to talk to him again, I just can’t talk to him right now. I just need some time. I’m dealing with his attorneys, but I’m very disappointed in Raja.”
No matter what Rampage says, critics online continue to tear him apart — some accusing him of “not being a good father,” others claiming he’s “shielding Raja from the consequences.”
