Collingwood captain Darcy Moore had a nightmare moment to forget in Thursday night’s qualifying final against Adelaide, gifting the Crows a crucial goal early in proceedings.
Halfway through the first quarter at Adelaide Oval, with the Magpies up five points in a low-scoring opening stanza, Moore took an intercept mark and decided to go on a scamper.
However, right as he got set to kick, the Pies skipper lost his grip on the footy and fumbled it to ground after some key Jordan Dawson pressure.

Darcy Fogarty quickly picked up the Sherrin and handballed it to the initial menace Dawson, who dribbled through a terrific goal from range.
“They’re going at him; they’re going at Darcy Moore,” dual flag-winner David King said on the Fox Footy broadcast.
“The mother of all clangers, right there — he wasn’t sure (what to do).
“Good pressure, good heat from the front … Moore was in two minds, he didn’t know whether to kick, whether to bounce.
“In the end, he got rattled. As simple as that; he got rattled, the Collingwood captain, and coughed up an opportunity.
“(It was) Dawson coming across (to provide pressure). Captain on captain, and then he (Dawson) snaps the goal.”
Triple Richmond premiership player Jack Riewoldt added: “This is the pressure that 52,000, away from home, puts you under. Even the Collingwood captain’s cracking.”
