The latest figures show Australia’s economy is growing again – in the words of one economist, “slowly crawling out of its hole.” GDP and other indicators are pointing upward, suggesting things are getting better.
But if you don’t feel any richer, you’re not alone.
So what do the national accounts really tell us about the state of the economy? And what do they leave out about life on the ground?
