Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to fight in an exhibition match in the spring of 2026.

CSI Sports/Fight Sports announced the exhibition Thursday but did not provide details on the date and location, saying they will be determined later.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said in a news release. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

Mayweather, 48, retired with an unbeaten record (50-0, 27 KOs) in 2017 after knocking out Conor McGregor. He has fought in eight exhibitions since, most recently against John Gotti III in Mexico City in August 2024. Mayweather notably faced off against social media star Logan Paul in 2021.

Tyson, 59, last fought in a professional match against influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in November. The 28-year-old Paul breezed past Tyson, who landed just 18 punches in eight sluggish rounds, by unanimous decision. Tyson, one of the biggest stars in sports when he was at his height, looked like a shell of the boxer who had last fought professionally in 2005.

His loss to Paul went on his professional record, lowering his career mark to 50-7, 44 KOs.

“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen,” Mayweather said about the exhibition with Mayweather. “However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this.

“It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”
