MATT Naulty has voiced his excitement at the latest big opportunity in his blossoming Supercars television career.
The energetic caller last month got the nod to join the main booth for Super2, slotting in alongside Garth Tander as Chad Neylon switched to covering the Australian Superbike Championship action at the Ipswich Super440.
Now he’ll make his main game debut on the microphone during co-driver practice at next week’s AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
“This is a really special opportunity,” said Naulty.
“Supercars is the pinnacle of Australian motorsport, and to be invited into the booth for The Bend practice sessions is something I’m incredibly proud of.
“It’s also very cool to be calling this at what is my home track, so I am very excited for that too.”
The call-up comes after 12 successive seasons on Supercars support categories.
Naulty and Neylon will lead the Super2 commentary at next month’s Repco Bathurst 1000, with Tander to be in driving mode for Grove Racing.
Supercars, which this week unveiled its new broadcast deal, has shown an increased willingness to mix things up since James Warburton’s appointment as CEO – including recent cameos for Mark Winterbottom and Scott Pye.
