But the best thing about Raj Kapoor and Nargis was the emotional honesty in their performances. The legendary actor always conveyed the dreamer, the average common man, or the flawed lover in every role; and matched with Nargis’ warmth, resilience and quiet strength, they just made it all work splendidly. They created characters that were real, vulnerable and relatable and grounded viewers, mesmerising them in the process.
