The Parramatta Eels NRLW team delivered a history-making performance on Saturday afternoon at GIO Stadium, crushing the Canberra Raiders 46-12 in Round 3 and setting multiple club records along the way.Â
The emphatic 34-point win marked Parramatta’s biggest-ever victory in an NRLW match, smashing their previous best winning margins of 14 points – achieved in 24-10 and 20-6 wins over the Roosters (2022) and Cowboys (2024) respectively.Â
At the heart of the record-setting performance was halfback Rachael Pearson, who etched her name into the club’s history books with a brilliant all-round display. Pearson kicked 7 goals, breaking the previous Eels NRLW record of 4 goals in a game – a record she had shared with Tayla Preston.Â
Pearson didn’t stop there. She also set a new benchmark for most points in a single game by an Eels NRLW player with 18 including a try in the 64th minute, surpassing Tayla Preston’s 12-point effort against the Roosters in 2022. Her haul saw her become the first player in Parramatta NRLW history to reach 100 career points – a remarkable milestone in a stellar career.Â
It was also a special day for Cassey Tohi-Hiku, who celebrated her 25th NRLW game, all of which have come in Eels colours. Her consistency and dynamic play have been pivotal for the club, and Saturday’s result was a fitting reward for her milestone.Â
Adding to the celebrations, Martha Mataele and Tess McWilliams both crossed for their first NRLW tries, marking the beginning of what promises to be exciting careers in the blue and gold. Tries were also scored by Rory Owen (2), Rueben Cherrington, Chloe Jackson, and captain, Mahalia Murphy. Â
The win not only reaffirms the Eels as one of the competition’s emerging powerhouses but also signals their intent for the rest of the 2025 season. Â
