17′ What is happening out there?

Tevita Naufahu streaks down the left sideline after catching a bomb, but eventually slows to a jog as he comes towards Chevy Stewart.

He jogs and looks around for about 30 metres with Corey Horsburgh hemming him in on the sideline, before Stewart finally brings him down.

Naufahu then gets up and plays the ball rapidly to no-one! Horsburgh dives on it and is penalised. He was within his rights to go for the ball with no dummy half in place, but he just broke from marker a second too early.

14′ Corey Horsburgh abuses his power and burns a captain’s challenge

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki charges towards the tryline and is towing three Raiders with him. Corey Horsburgh is clinging to the ball and clearly reefs it out and is penalised, but he inexplicably challenges!

The replays couldn’t be clearer (not that we needed them) and there goes the challenge, and with it, surely Horsburgh’s career as a captain’s challenger.

12m agoSun 7 Sep 2025 at 4:13amBeautiful pass and putdown for the Dolphins

Tevita Naufahu gets first points for the Dolphins as Kodi Nikorima hits him with a gorgeous cut-out ball and he dives in to score in the left corner.

It comes after he himself broke down the wing to put them in that field position and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow wisely told him to just take the fullback’s tackle instead of trying for a miracle chip.

Good smart play for the Dolphins.

9′ And the Raiders miss out too

Ata Mariota pokes his nose through the middle of the defence and gets the arms free, popping a ball straight to Ethan Sanders, who can’t handle.

Tough look for the halfback, who will be the starting seven next year.

7′ Another chance goes begging for the Dolphins

Isaiya Katoa gets Jake Averillo outside his man with a lovely spiralling pass, and Averillo looks set to fly to the tryline, but he’s dropped the ball out of nowhere.

It looked like the bullet pass never truly stuck and he’s dropped it as he switched it into his right hand.

3′ Trai Fuller goes full out

The Dolphins attack to the right and Trai Fuller unleashes Jamayne Isaako with a lovely cut-out pass. Isaako grubbers back inside and Fuller is chasing through. The ball takes a big bounce over the dead-ball line and Fuller manages to tap it back as he front-flips over the line, but it’s straight to Sebastian Kris on the ground.

And Felise Kaufusi drops the ball in a tackle off the dropout. So the Raiders just barely survive.

Felise Kaufusi takes the first charge and we’re off and running.

Retiring Mark Nicholls leads out the Dolphins

The big prop is accompanied by his two kids on Father’s Day.

The GOAT leads them out before taking his place on the bench.

28m agoSun 7 Sep 2025 at 3:56amBroncos continue NRLW winning streak

The Bondi/Brisbane dominance in the NRLW continues as the Broncos add their ninth victory from 10 games this season, beating the Warriors 26-6 in Waikato.

The Roosters are still unbeaten on top of the table, while the Broncos are a game behind, with their only loss coming against the Tricolours in round three.

A big part of Brisbane’s resurgence this season has been the return of fullback Tamika Upton, and she was immense once again in this one.

She scored two tries, had three line breaks and a line break assist, even getting an early mark as the Broncos cast their eyes towards the finals, where anything other than a Roosters-Broncos decider will be stunning.

Hynes’s pre-finals hammer blow

If you were wondering why teams like the Raiders and Panthers rest players when they get the chance in the lead-up to the finals, look no further than the Sharks last night.

They are at risk of losing Nicho Hynes for at least the first week of finals after a hip drop charge.

Cronulla will no doubt fight it or try to get it downgraded, but if they lose it could see Hynes rubbed out for two finals.

Big Corey Horsburgh is Canberra’s captain today as one of the few regular starters lining up for this clash with the Dolphins.

Horsburgh, Sebastian Kris, Savelio Tamale, Matty Nicholson, Owen Pattie and Morgan Smithies are the only regulars lining up today after the Raiders secured the minor premiership last week.

The Dolphins are out of finals contention after the Roosters’ win on Friday night, so they’re not risking Herbie Farnworth, who was a chance of coming back from a hamstring injury this week if needed.
