Jelena Dokic has embraced her inner model in a stunning new cover story for Stellar magazine following her recent weight loss journey.

The Croatian-born Aussie tennis great is the cover girl for Sunday’s Stellar magazine in which she opened up about her thriving career since hanging up her racquet.

Dokic gave the Supermodels a run for their money on the ultra-chic cover in a figure-hugging maroon gown by Aussie label Lidee Woman that featured ruffles.

The 42-year-old former World No.4 wore her hair slicked back and was styled with large statement earrings and a bangle.

Jelena has publicly chronicled her weight loss journey after shedding about 20 kilos through diet and lifestyle changes.

Fans of the six-time WTA title winner flooded the comment section to praise Dokic’s glamorous new shoot.

“Powerful and beautiful,” one commenter wrote.

“Beautiful presentation of a woman who’s been through hell and back and grown into most influential , inspiring , powerful women for everyone to see,” a second fan said.

Dokic has successfully reinvented herself as a respected commentator for Channel 9, author and advocate after surviving years of abuse at the hands of her late father Damir Dokic.

A feature length documentary about Dokic’s remarkable journey from war-torn Croatia to the heights of tennis recently scored Jelena her first Logie award.

Jelena’s cover shoot comes a week after Dokic was briefly hospitalised following a health scare while remotely commentating on the US Open from Melbourne.

Dokic revealed she had to go to the emergency room “an hour” after completing her duties on the coverage of the Grand Slam tournament for Channel Nine.

The former Wimbledon semi-finalist was ultimately diagnosed with a non-cancerous growth in her uterus.

Dokic said the diagnosis was “nothing major”, however she will require surgery later in the year to remove it.

The glossy Stellar shoot is available today in The Sunday Telegraph (NSW), Sunday Herald Sun (Victoria), The Sunday Mail (Queensland) and Sunday Mail (SA).
