On paper, the Week 2 slate featured just one game between ranked opponents after an absolutely loaded Week 1. But you can never count out an unexpected upset or three in a weekend like this.
The intrigue started early on Saturday as Iowa State beat Iowa in the CyHawk rivalry game with a late field goal and Arch Manning showed out in a get-right game against San Jose State with a five-touchdown performance. Elsewhere, No. 11 Illinois scored an impressive road win at Duke and Baylor upset No. 17 SMU in double overtime.

Later on, South Florida pulled off the biggest stunner of the day with a last-second field goal to topple Florida, 18-16.
In the nightcap, No. 18 Oklahoma logged its biggest win of Brett Venables’ tenure, beating up No. 15 Michigan in a heavyweight bout. Sooners QB John Mateer led the way with 270 passing yards and 74 rushing yards to go along with three TDs in the win.
