A teenage boy has died after a police chase ended in a horrific crash in the Upper Hunter region of NSW.
The 17-year-old boy was in the front passenger seat of the allegedly stolen car which police pursued as it was seen speeding down the New England Hwy at Aberdeen at 11.55pm on Saturday.
The car was allegedly driven by a 14-year-old boy who did not pull over when police directed him to, and the chase continued north along the highway until it crashed near Makybe Diva St at Scone.

Both the driver and front passenger were trapped in the wreckage.
Paramedics treated them once they were freed from the car, but the 17-year-old boy could not be saved.
The driver was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
He and his three back-seat passengers — a 25-year-old woman, another 17-year-old boy, and another 14-year-old boy – are being treated for non-life threatening injuries in hospital.
“All the boys are from the Tamworth area, while the woman is from the Newcastle area,” police said.
A critical incident investigation is now ongoing, and will be subject to an independent review by the Professional Standards Command, and oversighted by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
