Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season has nearly wrapped up with Sunday’s full schedule in the books.
It might be early, but NFL fans may have already seen the game of the year. Sunday ended with the Buffalo Bills’ miraculous 41-40 comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills trailed by 15 points in the final quarter, but managed to claw all the way back, winning the game on a last-second field goal from newly signed kicker Matt Prater.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen ended the evening by calling out a few Bills fans who didn’t show faith in their team and left the contest early. It was a fitting reminder that, in the NFL, the game isn’t over until the clock hits zero.
Earlier in the day, the Green Bay Packers gained an early advantage in what looks to be a tough NFC North race with a 27-13 victory against the Detroit Lions. Newly added pass rusher Micah Parsons praised the Green Bay fans for how they embraced him, calling it a “one of one” experience.
Aaron Rodgers appeared to rediscover his winning touch with four touchdown passes in the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ 34-32 win over the New York Jets. Following the game, Rodgers said he was “happy to beat everyone associated with the Jets,” his former team.
“There were probably people in the organization that didn’t think I could play anymore,” he added. “So it was nice to remind those people that I still can.”

Among the notable injuries coming out of Sunday’s action are George Kittle leaving the 49ers’ game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers took a hit on his knee versus the New England Patriots and trainers did not allow him to return. And Atlanta Falcons receiver Drake London hurt his shoulder on their final drive versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Elsewhere during Week 1, San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that the team was not considering a change at kicker despite Jake Moody missing two of his three field-goal attempts. One attempt from 36 yards was blocked by the Seattle Seahawks’ Julian Love, and a 27-yard try doinked off the left upright.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel also faces scrutiny for curious late-game decisions in a 20-13 defeat to the Raiders. Down 10 points with 4:53 remaining in the fourth quarter, Vrabel opted to punt on fourth-and-10 from midfield. Afterward, he said that felt the defense could stop the Raiders but they completed a 36-yard pass on third-and-20. On the Patriots’ final possession, the team kicked a field goal with 19 seconds remaining.
