Borderlands 4 is nearly here after six years of waiting, and fans are no doubt wondering exactly when they can get their hands on the game. Well, the release time and technically, even the release date depends on both your region, and what platform you’re playing the game on.

Gearbox has released its master list of dates and times for the release of Borderlands 4 in a map image, but here’s the text form of that, and you can see where things stand and plan your gaming session accordingly. Here are the release dates and times for Borderlands 4 in your region.

SAN FRANCISCO (PT) – PC: Thu, Sep 11 – 9am, Console: Thu, Sep 11 – 9pm
LOS ANGELES (PT) – PC: Thu, Sep 11 – 9am, Console: Thu, Sep 11 – 9pm
NEW YORK (ET) – PC: Thu, Sep 11 – 12pm, Console: Fri, Sep 12 – 12am
SÃO PAULO (BRT) – PC: Thu, Sep 11 – 1pm, Console: Fri, Sep 12 – 12am

AUCKLAND (NZST) – PC: Fri, Sep 12 – 4am, Console: Fri, Sep 12 – 12am

So, as you can see, half the world, especially the US, gets all or most of Thursday to play the game during the day or early evening. The West Coast gets to play the console version at 9 PM.

Everyone else? You’re pushing things until later in the day, if not all the way to Friday, September 12. And if you’re a console player in almost all regions? You’re looking at 12 AM local time wherever you are, which is not uncommon for console launches. This is why I play almost everything on PC now. Well that’s a fraction of the reason why, but it’s certainly a benefit.

Critics and creators, of course, have been playing the game well before this, and some time before launch the review embargo will lift and players can see how it compares to the last three Borderlands games, where we have:

Borderlands 1 – 84 Metascore
Borderlands 2 – 89 Metascore
Borderlands – 81 Metascore

Will Borderlands 4 rise above 90 for the first time, or dip below 80? Regardless, fans are excited that the six year wait is over, and for many, there are only three more days to go.
