WARRENSBURG, Mo. – With 36 holes behind them and just one more round to play, the Harding men’s golf team is holding its own at The MULE tournament. The Bisons wrapped up Monday’s action in eighth place, posting a two-round total of 579 at the Mules National Golf Course.

Harding opened the tournament with a first-round score of 291 (+11) and improved to a 288 (+8) in the second round. The team is currently second among the four Great American Conference teams participating in the 20-team field.

Jose Arzu leads the way for the Bisons, tied for 13th place individually with a two-round score of 141 (+1). Arzu’s performance included a first-round 68, which tied his career best and marked his 19th career round of par or better. Dennis Staykov is close behind in 20th place with a 142 (+2), highlighted by a second-round 70, his 25th career round of par or better.

Rounding out the scoring for Harding were Conner Geist, Austin Bibb, and Jose Manuel Peralta. Geist, making his debut for the Bisons after transferring from Wichita State, is tied for 45th at 148 (+8). Bibb is tied for 56th at 150 (+10), while Peralta is tied for 79th at 153 (+13). Trent Harley, playing as an individual, is tied for 87th at 155 (+15).

Central Oklahoma holds the lead in the team standings at 16 under par, 11 strokes ahead of second-place Central Missouri. Baylor Bostick of Central Oklahoma is the individual leader at 6 under par with a score of 134.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final round, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
