The Broncos career of Kobe Hertherington may be coming to an end.

But the 26-year-old’s release to link with Manly on a four-year deal is likely to enable three other Red Hill favourites to remain in 2026.

In the past two months there were growing fears that off-contract Brisbane forwards Cory Paix, Corey Jensen and Jack Gosiewski could all be squeezed out as the club juggled an ever-shrinking salary cap.

However, just 24 hours after news of Hetherington’s end-of-season departure, the Courier Mail is reporting that some, if not all of, of the trio are now likely to be resigned for 2026.

Corey Jenson, in particular, is believed to be in the final stages of negotiating a contract extension to line up for his fifth season with the Broncos since joining from North Queensland in 2022.

Both Paix and Jensen have been named in Michael Maguire’s starting thirteen for Sunday’s qualifying final against the Raiders in Canberra, while Gosiewski has been included on the extended reserves bench but is unlikely to play.

It was initially feared Gosiewski would be out for the rest of the NRL season after undergoing surgery for a broken collarbone suffered against the Dolphins in Round 24.
