PIES CIRCLE PAIR OF RIVAL TALLS IN POTENTIAL FORWARD LINE SHAKE-UP
Collingwood’s long-term quest for a gun key forward won’t be completed this off-season, but Craig McRae’s side is circling a number of cheaper options.
Questions remain over the future of their two leading goalkickers in Brody Mihocek, who reportedly has a two-year offer on the table to remain, and Jamie Elliott, who has strong interest from Gold Coast with the Pies not willing to match the 33-year-old’s salary demands.
Now SEN’s Sam Edmund reports the Magpies are trying to convince 24-year-old Sydney key forward Jack Buller to join the club.
The 199cm West Aussie was picked up in the 2023 mid-season draft and after playing just one game that year, earned a spot in the Swans’ side through the back half of the 2025 season, kicking 11 goals in nine games.
Buller is out of contract, and didn’t look likely to earn a new deal before his late-season run of performances, having battled a season-long back injury in 2024.
Meanwhile Collingwood has “had a look at” a move for St Kilda’s Anthony Caminiti, according to AFL Media.
The 21-year-old is contracted for next year but looks to have fallen well down the pecking order with Jack Silvagni and Leek Aleer set to replace him in the Saints’ backline.
Caminiti can also play forward and would provide versatility and depth for the Magpies should they make a move for the 2023 pre-season signing, who has played 56 games in three years at Moorabbin.

SUNS DUO’S VIC INTEREST
A pair of Gold Coast players are waiting until their season ends to weigh up their AFL futures with both good chances of departing the club.
Sam Flanders, one of the top midfield options on the market, is a “strong likelihood” of moving to a Victorian club according to AFL Media.
The 24-year-old has two more years to run on his contract but the likes of Carlton, Melbourne and St Kilda are all interested in the No.11 pick from the 2019 Draft.
Meanwhile unrestricted free agent Brayden Fiorini looks set to turn a career-reviving season into a healthy new deal.
The 28-year-old worked his way back into the Suns’ senior side with huge numbers in the VFL and has played 17 games this season including the elimination final win over Fremantle.
But Fiorini, who is in his 10th year at Gold Coast, only has a two-year deal on the table to remain at the club with Essendon and Port Adelaide both believed to be considering longer offers.
Meanwhile Alex Davies, who has long been floated as a trade candidate, is set to stay at Gold Coast having worked his way into Damien Hardwick’s preferred midfield mix including a brilliant performance in the elimination final win.
