This morning’s pre-start looks a little different to usual, as the teams begin the day at a Anzac Day dawn service.
It may be a public holiday, but things are still a go on site as tradies work hard to install the kitchens and benchtops – and in one house, completely re-do their living and dining as well.

Sonny and Alicia’s living room was roasted by the judges, and considering that room flows directly into their kitchen, they’re hoping that adapting to the feedback will help the judges see their full vision.

There’s a lot going on, but thankfully they still have time for this week’s Move with McCafé ‘boogie bounce’ class.

The Blockheads wonder who was the worst, but it’s the wrong question to be asking.
Because was anyone actually good?
Afterwards, Taz’s endorphins have given him a bright idea.
He needs some logs for shelving and ends up stumbling upon a goldmine of free timber.
Foreman Dan says they’re first in, best dressed so Taz (and landscaper Troy Lovett) are over the moon.
Taz grabs his spray paint and tags every single log with ‘H3’.
Every. Single. Log. (Nine)
Before long, the logs start a turf war.
Sonny spots the H3 tags and is unimpressed, tagging ‘H4’ over some of them to claim for his landscaping.
Friday means walkarounds time, and this week Scotty has a special mission: find some kitchen ideas he can steal for his own reno.

Something he won’t be replicating is House 2’s curved rangehood, which yesterday Dan discovered came down too low.
“If I was a buyer, I know this is a terrible thing to say, I couldn’t buy this house because of that,” he says.

“With any luck, there’s a whole bunch of really short people that come in here to look at this house.”
This week, Scotty’s giving his hardest worker award to Alicia, which gives her the chance to pick five trees the height of Shelley Craft.
They only use official units of measurement on The Block!
Without much to do while their cabinetry is installed, Han and Can head out for an excursion of our dreams: to Daylesford’s Hepburn Distillery for a gin tasting.
Han assigns herself the designated driver while Can…

Despite Sonny’s attempt to claim some of the on site timber, Taz arranges for all of it to be cut up into arbors.

He definitely wasn’t expecting it to also lead to him having a bit of a Demi Moore in Ghost moment as Scotty helps him guide the Wood-Mizer machine.

After her (many) gins, Can is not allowed on site unless she can pass Dan’s sobriety test of standing on one leg, hopping, walking in a straight line and rubbing her stomach while patting her head.
Tough! We can barely do that sober!
She passes, only to be stopped by GMac and a breathalyser – giving her the opportunity to go two-from-two.
As the afternoon continues, Robby and Mat get a visit from 2023 Blockheads Kristy and Brett, who Robby knows from back home in Adelaide.
They end up touring the entire Block and to no ones’ surprise, Kristy is asking the tough questions!
Who’s friends with who? Who’s the villain? Are the couples fighting? What’s the hot goss?
Alicia obliges with some goss. (Nine)
Alicia shares details of her earlier feud with House 2 and says she worries about her and Britt becoming Kristy and Leah 2.0.
Uh ohhh.
It’s a 2023 bonanza, actually, as the season’s winner Steph is also making her mark after visiting the teams.
She’s given Han and Can advice on what colour to paint over their Smurf City, sorry we mean Santiago Blue, main bedroom wall and helped Britt see the vision for her and Taz’s ‘wellness house’.
One team who didn’t get much advice from the show’s biggest ever winners are Sonny and Alicia and yes, they’re salty about it.

She’s planning to pick Britt’s brains during a Saturday shopping trip, but unbeknownst to her Britt’s aready done all her shopping today.
Solo.
The gig is up when Alicia overhears Britt and Mat talking about running into each other at Kmart.
“It’s exactly like being stood up, it’s embarrassing,” she reacts, storming off from the group as Britt yells “sorry!”
“No you’re not!” Alicia yells back. (Nine)
What a week!
But of course, it’s not over yet. At Room Reveals, some team’s kitchens have the judges eating it up, but others face a grilling.
