Both the Indiana men’s and women’s basketball programs will begin their seasons with Hoosier Hoops on Kirkwood — a new interactive fan event — from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 2. The event will take place on the 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Kirkwood Avenue.
Players from each squad will be introduced, compete in skills competitions and partake in meet-and-greets with fans.
The women’s program finished 20-13 in 2024-25, reaching the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 before falling to the University of South Carolina. The Hoosiers lost six players to the transfer portal and three to graduation, meaning senior guard Shay Ciezki is the lone returning contributor.
Indiana head coach Teri Moren brought in eight new players for the upcoming season — two freshmen and six transfers.
Indiana men’s basketball is beginning a new era under first-year head coach Darian DeVries, who was hired March 18 from West Virginia University. DeVries compiled a 10-man portal class, which is ranked the 10th-best in the country, according to 247Sports.
Fifth-year senior forward Tucker DeVries and fifth-year senior guard Lamar Wilkerson headline the new-look Hoosiers. The former scored 17.7 points per game across 112 career contests, while the latter averaged 20.5 per game last season at Sam Houston State University.
The men will open their regular season against Alabama A&M University on Nov. 5 while the women will begin theirs against Lipscomb University on Nov. 4.
