The Las Vegas Raiders face their division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 and and the status of a big piece of their offense is in question for Monday night.
After missing practice on Thursday and Friday, Brock Bowers was back on the field Saturday, according to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. The Raiders tight end was wearing a brace on his left knee for a second straight day after watching from the sidelines on Friday.
Head coach Pete Carroll said afterward that Bowers “looked terrific” and expects him to play. The tight end was listed as questionable on Saturday’s injury report.
Bowers left the Raiders’ Week 1 win over the New England Patriots with a knee injury and did not return in the second half. Before exiting the game, he caught five balls for 103 yards in the 20-13 victory.

In Kansas City, Xavier Worthy has been ruled out of their Super Bowl LIX matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles with a shoulder injury. Worthy suffered the injury during the Chiefs’ Week 1 loss to the Chargers in Brazil after he collided with tight end Travis Kelce. It was reported Worthy suffered a dislocated right shoulder, but no timetable was announced for when he would play again.
On Friday, head coach Andy Reid said that Worthy had a “slim” chance of playing.
Worthy will next get a chance to suit up in Week 3 on Sunday night against the New York Giants.

As expected, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was ruled out for Week 2 after sustaining a toe injury in the season opener, leaving Mac Jones to start Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
Thursday night’s Green Bay Packers win over the Washington Commanders was costly for both teams. Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed broke his collarbone during a negated 38-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. He will reportedly have surgery next week and hopes to return in November. Meanwhile, Commanders running back Austin Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles late in the fourth quarter and is done for the season. Washington defensive end Deatrich Wise is also out for the year after suffering a quad injury.
The Atlanta Falcons have downgraded kicker Younghoe Koo to out for reasons not related to injury. Parker Romo will have kicking duties after being signed to the practice squad earlier this week. Koo went 2-for-3 from field goal range during last week’s defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His only miss was a 44-yard attempt in the final seconds that would have tied the game.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will miss Sunday’s game against the Chiefs with a knee injury. Goedert has missed practice all week.
