NRLW star Hannah Southwell is facing a suspension for a brutal late hit on her little sister.

The St George Illawarra forward rushed out of the line to put a shot on younger sibling Jesse during Sunday’s game in Wollongong.

The hit left the younger Southwell on the turf, and earned her Knights a penalty when the game was still scoreless in the 14th minute.

Fellow commentator Peter Psaltis joked Jesse “stole her lunch money”, resulting in Hannah putting her on her backside.

Newcastle won the game 30-22 and are now preparing to face Gold Coast in the first final this Saturday.

The Dragons did not qualify for finals, so Southwell will have to serve her one-game ban next season.

The Southwell sisters won premierships at the Knights together before Hannah moved south to join the Dragons this year.
