A week before the massive ONE Friday Fights 126 tentpole event takes over Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the world’s largest martial arts organization will whet the appetite of millions of fans around the world.

ONE Friday Fights 125 goes down live in Asia primetime on September 19 and features 12 fights across Muay Thai and MMA, featuring former ONE World Title contenders and international stars hunting for first and second chances at a US$100,000 contract and spot on ONE Championship’s main roster.

In the headline attraction, former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex of Thailand faces Elbrus Osmanov of Russia — and this one won’t go the distance.

Eleven of Saemapetch’s last 12 fights have ended by knockout. Some have been wins, others have been losses. He’s currently riding a three-bout losing skid, and he wants nothing more than to get back into the win column.

But against Osmanov, he also has other motives. Over the last few months Russians have been defeating top Thais under Muay Thai rules, so Saemapetch aims to bring honor back to his country this Friday.

Osmanov, on the other hand, is coming off a first-round knockout win and wants to do the same against an established veteran like Saemapetch. If he does, it’ll increase his chances of winning a life-changing contract with ONE.

In the international featured bout of the evening, Kongchai Chanaidonmueang faces the already-contracted Walter Goncalves in strawweight Muay Thai action.

After a stellar start in ONE Friday Fights, Kongchai experienced a mixed bag of success. He’s been unable to string together more than two wins in a row. But if he can defeat Goncalves, that’ll prove he has what it takes to compete at the elite level.

That said, he’ll be highly motivated against Goncalves, who wants to show fans that this weight class suits him well. The Brazilian has competed in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA in ONE at flyweight. Now he’s looking to make the same impact in the lighter division.

In a 139-pound MMA bout, Korea’s Kyung Joong Kim meets Japan’s Su Sung Cho Gotoh in a battle of two athletes making their promotional debuts. Also, Juliana Otalora of Colombia faces Kim Tran of Australia in atomweight MMA action.

A slew of other fighters from France, Turkey, and China round out the card packed with international flavor.
