Murphy played 120 senior games for the Crows since debuting in Round One, 2018

Adelaide will farewell Lachlan Murphy after nine seasons at West Lakes, with the small forward being advised he will not be offered a new contract.

Murphy played 120 senior games for the Crows since debuting in Round One, 2018.

“I’ve loved my time at Adelaide and I will forever be grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream,” Murphy said.

“I wish everyone involved at the Crows all the best in the future.”

Adelaide GM List Management Justin Reid thanked Murphy for his contribution to the Club and wished him well for the future.

“Lachie has been a really valuable member of our playing list both on and off the field since joining the Club in 2017,” Reid said.

“He moved across to SA to play for our SANFL side and made the jump to the AFL list via the rookie draft in 2017 – which was a testament to his hard-work and commitment.

“On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank Lachie, Madison and the entire Murphy family for his contribution to the Adelaide Football Club over the past nine years and wish him all the best for the future.”

Irish rookie Karl Gallagher will also not be offered a new contract.

The 23-year-old joined the Crows as a Category B rookie in 2024 and featured consistently for Adelaide’s SANFL side.

“Karl can leave the Club with his head held high, having embraced the challenge of moving to Australia and changing codes,” Reid said.

“We wish Karl all the best on his return to Ireland.”
