A SALISBURY teenager has won gold at a boxing competition.

15-year-old Kiara Baron, from Salisbury City Boxing Club, competed in the Barum Box Cup in the under 50kg category.

She travelled to Ilfracombe, North Devon, with her family and coach Eddie McDickson.

Fighting an opponent from Manchester, both boxers got through to the final.

Both boxers fought hard in the first round, but Kiara took the lead, winning both the first and second rounds.

In the third round, Kiara demonstrated her strength, giving her opponent two standing eight-counts and stopping her opponent, securing her the win.

This victory earned Kiara the gold medal and the title of Barum Box Cup under 50kg champion.

However, Kiara’s journey does not stop here.

She is set to fight again on September 20 at the Salisbury City Boxing Club Home Show at the Downton Leisure Centre.

Following this, Kiara will be competing in the next box cup, aiming for more gold medals.

Kiara has been representing the Salisbury City Boxing Club since the age of eight.
