All of the most iconic and perfect rom-coms from the early 2000s have one thing in common: Reese Witherspoon. (My favorites are Sweet Home Alabama and Just Like Heaven.) If we get her back in more of them, we can enter a new golden era for the genre. Until the universe sorts this out, I will be catching up on The Morning Show. Last week’s premiere helped lift me out of my post-summer blues and gave me some much-appreciated fall beauty inspiration. The actress’s skin looked divine, and it was thanks, in part, to Merit’s Minimalist Complexion Stick.
Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher was responsible for the night’s glam. She began by prepping Witherspoon’s skin with a firming moisturizer before applying this all-in-one foundation-concealer-contour stick. The light-yet-buildable-to-medium-coverage complexion product comes in 30 shades and has a vast celebrity fanbase that includes Martha Stewart, 84, and Lauren Graham, 58.

Thanks to its affordability and proven efficacy, Merit’s Minimalist Complexion Stick is also a huge hit with regular shoppers. It has 8,000-plus cumulative five-star ratings, and there are always a handful of shades out of stock. The appeal is simple—it’s quick and easy to use, whether with fingers or a brush, not to mention, it’s lightweight, breathable, imperfection-blurring, and has a natural finish. The other part of its appeal is that it’s good-for-you skin makeup—glycerin gives it long-term hydrating benefits, and sea daffodil extract makes it dark spot-fading and skin brightening, too.
The other part of its appeal is that it gets the job done, handsomely. One shopper said it makes pores “disappear.” Another said it’s “magic” at reducing “dark circles,” and a third said it even “hides wrinkles and looks like [their] skin, only better.”
Head to Merit and Sephora to shop the Minimalist Complexion Stick; it’s a rare product that is a hit with anyone and everyone, regardless of age or skin type.
