Netflix has officially renewed the raunchy drama series “The Hunting Wives” for a second season.

Based on Mary Cobb’s 2022 novel of the same name, “The Hunting Wives” stars Brittany Snow as Sohie O’Neil, an East cost liberal who befriends a group of wealthy conservative women when she and her husband, Graham (Evan Jonigkeit), move from Massachusetts to Texas. Sophie soon learns that her new pals have their share of secrets, especially when a teenage girl, Abby (Madison Wolfe), is found dead in the woods.

“The Hunting Wives” was a hit with viewers, racking up 5.2 million views within a week of its July premiere. Still, season 2 didn’t seem like a guarantee until Netflix confirmed the news this week. After all, season 1 was based on a book, even if it deviated from the source material quite a bit.

Snow and her costar Malin Akerman, who plays the hunting wives’ ringleader, Margo Banks, announced the season 2 renewal with a video of them FaceTiming. Nodding to their characters’ steamy affair, Snow told Akerman that she would give up her “digntiy” and “morals” to see her again.

“I have a feeling we’re going to see each other real soon. Actually, I know we’re gonna see each other really soon,” Akerman replied before donning the infamous wig she wears on the show. “Pack your boots and load your guns cause we’re going back to Maple Brook for season 2, baby!”

Fans rejoiced upon hearing the news.

“I still can’t believe we’re actually getting the hunting wives season 2 like i just have so much to live for,” one viewer quipped via X.

“LET’S GOOOOOO!!!!!” another fan replied to the renewal anouncement.

“Thank you, Netflix!!! Can’t wait to get back to Maple Brook for more lesbian yearning,” a third person wrote.

An official logline for season 2 of “The Hunting Wives” notes that Snow and Akerman’s characters, Sophie and Margo, are “on the outs” when the season begins.

“But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?” the description continues.

A release date for season 2 of “The Hunting Wives” has not yet been announced. Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
