Saturday was one for the football history books. Over 6,300 passionate fans streamed through the gates at ServiceFM Stadium, turning the venue into a festival of football. Eight matches, trophies to be won, promotion on the line, and plenty of drama to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

The action started bright and early at 9:00am with the RAA NPL and HPG Homes State League U18 and Reserves Grand Finals. The artificial pitches were buzzing as back-to-back matches kept the crowd entertained right through to early afternoon.

Then all eyes shifted to the main stage for the HPG Homes State League 2 Promotional Playoff at 2:15pm. Modbury Vista and Adelaide Atletico walked out knowing 90 minutes stood between them and HPG Homes State League 1 football.

A massive crowd had gathered, creating one of the most electric atmospheres in HPG Homes State League 2 history. The grandstand was a spectacle in itself, a sea of pink for Atletico and blue for Modbury Vista, with fans singing, chanting, waving flags, and banging their drums throughout. The noise, colour, and energy made the occasion feel bigger than a typical HPG Homes State League 2 final, turning the match into a true showcase event and one that no football fan would want to miss.

Vista came out firing, aiming to catch Atletico off guard, but the breakthrough wouldn’t come. The game stayed tense until the 77th minute when Matthew Maio stepped up and buried a penalty to give Atletico the lead. Six minutes later, Pablo Correa pounced on a loose ball and doubled the advantage.

When the final whistle blew, the Atletico supporters erupted. Their team had secured promotion to the HPG Homes State League 1.
