Police are looking for two male teenagers in relation to the fatal stabbing of a man in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
Emergency services responded to reports of an assault on the Gwydir Highway at Waterview about 1am Wednesday.
Police found a 35-year-old man had been stabbed by unknown persons while walking along the street.
The 35-year-old-man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Police arrested a 17-year-old male in relation to the stabbing, who is assisting authorities with their investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Guy Flaherty said police were looking for two male teenagers in hoodies and trackpants who left the area on a motorbike or a quad bike.
He called for anyone with dash cam and home CCTV footage around the area to come forward to assist officers with their inquiries.

“We’re appealing for members of the public who may have seen or heard people fighting in the area around the Gwydir Highway [near] Hay Street, South Grafton,” Detective Chief Inspector Flaherty said.
“We’re also interested in an altercation that took place earlier around an hour prior in the Bent Street, South Grafton area.”
Detective Chief Inspector Flaherty said officers believed the 35-year-old and the unknown persons were known to each other.
“This was not a random attack,” he said.

“I heard the helicopter come in around 1, 2 o’clock this morning. I didn’t know what happened,” he said.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area, which is expected to remain a crime scene for a considerable amount of time.
