Though he has not been able to clinch Grand Slam title number 25, Novak Djokovic has enjoyed another incredible year on tour in 2025.

At the age of 38, the Serb has managed to reach the semifinals at all four majors and has remained inside the world’s top ten.

Following an up-and-down start to the season, in May, Djokovic clinched his 100th ATP title at the Geneva Open, and has since been producing his very best tennis.

With the Asian and the indoor hard-court swings still to come, recently retired WTA star Carolina Garcia revealed what she has found insane about the legend’s 21st full professional season so far.

In an episode of the ‘Roland Garros Podcast’, Garcia said of Djokovic: “It’s just insane, he’s playing like five tournaments a year, every time.

“Maybe the first match is a bit messy, but he gets through it and just becomes a better and better player through the tournament.

“It just seems that his body will stop him a bit in the end, he’s less able to recover as fast and as well as before.

“When he arrives at the moment to play Alcaraz or Sinner in a best-of-five, he’s unfortunately not able to do it anymore. Maybe in best of three, he can do more things, but in best of five, it looks like he’s struggling this year.

“That’s what the results show, but it’s impressive how good he is with the few amount of tournaments he plays and how he is able to adapt to the younger generation. He plays so well, it’s nice to see.”

Novak Djokovic’s defeats to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz at majors

In three of his four Grand Slam defeats this year, Djokovic has fallen to one of Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz.

At both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, it was Sinner who got the better of him, with the Italian winning both bouts in straight sets.

Alcaraz came out on top against Djokovic at the US Open to clinch another victory in his near-flawless campaign at Flushing Meadows before going on to win the tournament.

Djokovic has proven he can still beat anyone on the tour with the exception of the ‘new two’, a problem he will continue to face in his ongoing pursuit of a record-breaking 25th major crown.
