The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Australia wrapped up its 2025 In-House Counsel Days, a national series of one-day conferences held in Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

With the theme: Connect. Collaborate. Create., the events drew hundreds of in-house legal professionals to explore challenges facing corporate counsel, share practical insights and strengthen professional networks.

Anna Bagley, ACC Australia president, said: “Our state committees are the heartbeat of these events. Their insight, energy and dedication ensure that every session is meaningful and every delegate leaves inspired.”

State-based panels of in-house counsel curated each programme to reflect regional priorities and industry trends, with sessions accredited for continuing professional development. Formats ranged from expert panels and roundtables to interactive workshops.

Highlights included Perth’s discussions on ESG integration in the resources sector, led by David Winch, principal at Jalexiam Legal; Natalie Drew, legal and commercial manager at global crop nutrition company Yara; Jessica Berry, senior legal counsel at BCI Minerals; and Angelyn Seen, legal counsel at Yara and ACC Western Australia chapter vice president.

Adelaide’s conference focused on ethical leadership and the evolving role of counsel, while the event at Brisbane highlighted hands-on technology and cybersecurity workshops.

Sydney’s event explored cross-border risk and stakeholder engagement and Melbourne’s sessions on legal team culture and external counsel management completed the series.

ACC Australia has confirmed planning for the 2026 In-House Counsel Days, with expanded programming and additional regional hubs under consideration.
