Lando Norris topped a McLaren one-two in a heavily delayed Free Practice 1 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
A red flag for debris with loose kerb consumed most of the session, with only 20 minutes of on-track running after the resumption, where Norris improved his time to go fastest.
Piastri overcame engine trouble in the opening stages to recover to second on the weekend, McLaren can win the constructors’.
Elsewhere, Charles Leclerc was third with Yuki Tsunoda finishing ahead of Max Verstappen in sixth and seventh, with Lewis Hamilton suffering a wall-strike and breaking his front-wing, but was otherwise unscathed.
