In a battle for third place in Pontevedra’s EncestaRias tournament, Real Madrid turned a slow start into a comfortable separation in the second half and settled for an 87-80 victory versus Baskonia.

Six double-digit scoring showings for Los Blancos, including Andres Feliz combining 14 points with seven rebounds and five assists. Gabriele Procida shared a team-high 14 points, Trey Lyles put up 13 points, and Chuma Okeke posted a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double. Alberto Abalde, Gabriel Deck, Mario Hezonja, and Theo Maledon were unavailable for the team coached by Sergio Scariolo.

Limited to ten dressed players, Mamadi Diakite, Markus Howard, Rodions Kurucs, and Tadas Sedekerskis were the missing on Paolo Galbiati’s side. With eight of a game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter, Clement Frisch fueled a comeback bid, reducing the deficit to six points with just over two minutes on the clock.

Later Saturday in the Final, Valencia made short work of Rio Breogan, ending up at 77-55. A balanced scoring sheet saw Matt Costello stand out with 12 points. Brancou Badio, Ethan Happ, Xabier Lopez-Arostegui, Jean Montero, and Nate Sestina were out.

Shifting to official games, the Supercopa Endesa 2025 features Madrid versus La Laguna Tenerife and Valencia versus host Unicaja in the Semifinals. The four-team tournament is set to be played next weekend.

Baskonia will navigate the remaining preseason schedule prior to tipping off the 2025-26 schedule in Round 1 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, with Olympiacos visiting Fernando Buesa Arena on September 30.
