“I know it will be a roller coaster of excitement, tension and nerves galore,” says Hall of Fame actor fronting her very first quiz show.

10 has now confirmed Rebecca Gibney as host of Millionaire Hot Seat for 2026.

First tipped by TV Tonight, the Logie Hall of Fame inductee follows from her appearance on Dancing with the Stars and acting roles in such shows as A Remarkable Place to Die, Prosper, Halifax: Retribution and famously, Packed to the Rafters.

Like Cornelia Frances and Magda Szubanksi before her, both in The Weakest Link. Rebecca Gibney marks a rare time an actress fronts a game show in Australia.

“I have been a longtime fan of Millionaire Hot Seat and it’s such a thrill to now be stepping into the role of host. To be at the helm of a show that brings about life-changing moments and to be able to guide contestants on their journey to a potential million-dollar win is such a privilege.

“I know it will be a roller coaster of excitement, tension and nerves galore for me as well as the contestants, but I have no doubt it will also be a whole lot of fun for everyone watching at home. I can’t wait to get started!”

Tamara Simoneau, Vice President, Content, Paramount Australia said: “Rebecca Gibney has done it all on the stage and screen as one of Australia’s most beloved stars. But she’s never been at the helm of a game show, and we’re so excited she’s breaking new ground with us to host the refreshed version of the international smash hit, Millionaire Hot Seat.

“Her warmth and enthusiasm will endear her to Australians all over again as our contestants chase trivia glory and a whole lot of cash!”

Millionaire Hot Seat will see six everyday Aussies facing a series of 15 questions for the chance to walk away with up to $1,000,000.

Casting is now underway for Australians ready to test their general knowledge here.

Studio audience tickets for the Melbourne made season are also available here.

Hot Seat ran on Nine for over 2500 episodes ending in 2024. The new version will be produced by SPT’s Curio Pictures.
