Detectives from WA’s Major Crime Division are investigating the death of a man in the Goldfields city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder early on Sunday morning.
Police say they received reports of an unconscious man in West Lamington, near the Kalgoorlie Arboretum, about 5.50am.
St John Ambulance and police attended and located the man near the corner of Hawkins Street and Memorial Drive.
He had critical injuries and was declared dead soon after.
The man’s age is not yet known.

Police have cordoned off a large area near the arboretum, which is a popular dog exercise park, and surrounding streets.
Uniformed officers and vehicles have been stationed at both entrances to the park on Hawkins Street, Memorial Drive and Marshall Street while forensic officers work at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone in the area around the time of the incident, or who has any CCTV or dash-cam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers or report it online.
