India legend Jhulan Goswami holds a narrow advantage at the top of the list for most wickets in Women’s World Cup history, but there are three experienced seamers that will feature at this year’s tournament that are in with a legitimate chance of overhauling her total of 43 scalps.
Australia pacer Megan Schutt has a total of 34 wickets in Women’s World Cup history having made her debut in India at the 2013 edition, while South Africa all-rounder Marizanne Kapp (32 wickets) and Aussie teammate Ellyse Perry (31) could also claim top billing with some good efforts with the ball this year.
Kapp and Perry are among a group of five players at this year’s event who are playing at their fifth Women’s World Cup, with New Zealand duo Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates and India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur he others to debut back at the 2009 edition and play in every tournament since.
