Apple TV users can now stream NOVA’s live stations and partner channels, with apps designed specifically for the platform.

NOVA Entertainment has widened its digital reach, switching on its full suite of apps for Apple TV users across Australia.

The company confirmed the Nova TV Player, Smooth TV Player, FIVEAA TV Player and Star 104.5 TV Player apps are now available to download via the Apple Store, giving households direct access to both live stations and partner streams through connected TVs.

The expansion follows the April launch on Google TV and Android TV, with NOVA stating it is now the only commercial radio group in the country offering dedicated apps across several smart TV platforms.

The new apps stream both NOVA’s own content and partner stations including Nova Jamz and talkSPORT, with the company highlighting the additional opportunities this provides advertisers targeting at-home audiences.

“Our priority is making content available across all the devices and platforms our listeners expect.

With 80% of Australians owning a Smart TV and 82% of music streaming happening at home via smart speakers and Connected TVs, further expanding our SMART TV portfolio to Apple TV is win for audiences and for our advertisers looking to reach them,” Michelle Golding, NOVA Entertainment’s Director of Digital Strategy, Capabilities and Data, said.

According to NOVA, the firm worked directly with Apple to tailor the apps for Apple TV, ensuring smooth operation within the platform’s interface.

The move forms part of NOVA’s broader plan to strengthen its digital footprint, tapping into the growth of connected TV as a key distribution channel for audio content.
