In a hard-fought battle at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Australian Kaye Scott and American Olivia Curry were unable to determine a new WBC Middleweight World Champion, leaving the title vacant.
Scott surprised early with an uncharacteristic volume of punches and power, while Curry endured despite suffering a cut above her left eyebrow from an accidental head clash in the third round, along with bruising on her forehead and right eyebrow.
After ten rounds of intense brushes, the judges scored a majority draw: one judge scored it 98-92 for Scott, while the other two scored 95-95. The title remains vacant, with updated records of 4-1-1 for Scott and 7-2-3 (2 KOs) for Curry.
