CARY, N.C. – University of North Carolina women’s tennis opened singles and doubles play Monday in the qualifying round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women’s All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. Alanis Hamilton highlighted the day with a comeback victory in three sets to advance to the round of 32.
Duo Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans picked up an impressive win to begin the qualifying bracket of ITAs. The pair won in straight sets over their opponents from Oklahoma State.

The qualifying round of the tournament will continue Tuesday. Alanis Hamilton will get the Tar Heels started in the singles round of 32 at 9 a.m. against Audrey Spencer from Ohio State. Theadora Rabman and Tatum Evans will later compete in the doubles round of 16 against Mia Yamakita and Erin Pearce from Vanderbilt at 3:30 p.m.
Claire Hill will compete again in singles at 11 a.m. before taking the courts with her partner Mary Grace Rennard at 4 p.m.
Since 1983, this event has featured the nation’s top NCAA Division I tennis athletes. The All-American Championships is also an opportunity for athletes to qualify for the NCAA Doubles and Singles Championships. This tournament will qualify 10 singles players (eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists) and four doubles teams (four main draw semifinalists).
