Over the years, he has guided research teams to publish more than 300 articles in respected international journals. These papers cover a wide range of Ayurvedic studies and have strengthened the scientific understanding of natural medicine.
Under his leadership, Patanjali has developed more than 100 Ayurvedic medicines with an evidence-based approach. These formulations provide safe, natural, and affordable alternatives to allopathic treatments. This makes healthcare accessible to millions of people.
Beyond research labs, Acharya Balkrishna has also devoted himself to documenting and sharing knowledge. He has authored over 120 books on Yoga and Ayurveda. This has helped spread awareness in simple language that reaches common readers as well as students of science.
His work on restoring and editing more than 25 ancient manuscripts has also given new life to texts.
Perhaps one of his most notable contributions is the Herbal Encyclopaedia. This large-scale documentation of natural herbs has created a valuable resource for future generations of scientists. It has also won respect from experts worldwide.
Acharya Balkrishna has not limited himself to India alone. Through his work at the Herbal World in Malagon, Uttarakhand, he has introduced global visitors to the traditions of natural healing.
Yogrishi Swami Ramdev praised the achievement, calling it a milestone for Ayurveda and Indian science. He said that Acharya Balkrishna has given Ayurveda strong scientific backing and opened new directions for researchers across the world. He described the recognition as proof of the hidden potential in natural herbs and ancient knowledge, and as a step towards India’s growing role in global research leadership.
Dr. Anurag Varshney, Chief Scientist at Patanjali, also shared his admiration. He said that working under Acharya Balkrishna’s guidance has been an honour, and that his leadership continues to inspire the entire research community. He added that the achievement motivates everyone to work towards building a healthier and self-reliant India by blending timeless Ayurvedic wisdom with modern science.
