A representative for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shut down rumors that their son Prince Archie would be attending Eton College.

Both Harry and his brother Prince William attended the elite boarding school.

Last week, the Duke of Sussex appeared to hint at his family’s possible return to the U.K.

Just months after it was reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son Prince George would likely be headed to Eton College, a representative for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has confirmed that Prince Archie isn’t slated to attend the elite academy.

“I can confirm that Prince Harry has not put Archie’s name down for Eton, and that the Duke has no plans to send his son to Eton,” the spokesperson told E! earlier today.

Both William and Harry went to the prestigious all-boys boarding school, which costs more than $84,000 annually in tuition.

After a court ruled earlier this spring that Harry and his family wouldn’t be entitled to additional security protections in the United Kingdom, the Duke of Sussex shared that it was unlikely they’d ever return to his home country.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” he told BBC News at the time.

However, as recently as last week, singer Joss Stone revealed that Harry seemed interested in a move back after speaking with him at the WellChild Awards in London. Stone, a Grammy-winning artist, recently relocated to the U.K. herself.

“He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” Stone told Hello!. “It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back.”

He seemed “genuinely interested” in the move, Stone said.

“He asked about how we were settling back in,” Stone continued. “He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always. Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice.”

Prince Harry and Markle moved across the pond to Montecito, California, in 2020, where they still live with their two children, 6-year-old Archie and Lilibet, 4.
