EXCLUSIVE: The Pitt is still on quite a roll post-Emmys.

After taking home five golden statuettes this year, the freshman medical drama has now set a record with the largest post-season viewership growth for the debut season of any HBO or HBO Max show, parent company Warner Bros. Discovery tells Deadline.

Since the April 10 finale, The Pitt has seen its average audience spike 80% to amass more than 18M global viewers per episode, per WBD.

That’s thanks in part to its Emmy victories, including for Outstanding Drama as well as acting awards for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. According to WBD, global viewing in the last week was nearly triple that of the week prior, marking the series’ best week of viewing since April.

As Deadline previously reported, audiences flocked to the show pretty immediately after the ceremony, whether to catch up on the series or revisit it, boosting U.S. viewership to 60.2M minuted watched on Monday, September 15, per Luminate. That’s up 142% from the prior Monday’s 24.9M minutes watched.

The Pitt is set to return in early 2026, though an exact release date has not been revealed just yet. Season 2 began production mid-June 2025.

Led by writer and executive producer Wyle in the role of Dr. Michael Robinavitch, the ensemble cast also includes LaNasa as Dana Evans, Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa King, Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon, Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos, Fiona Dourif as Dr. Cassie McKay, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan, Shabana Azeez as Dr. Victoria Javadi, Gerran Howell as Dr. Dennis Whitaker and guest star Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Jack Abbot.

Season 2 will pick up 10 months after the final hour of Season 1, which concluded April 10. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill hinted that Season 2 will take place over Fourth of July weekend during a day-long shift, which will likely see all kinds of ER patients.
