Budget Direct signs on as inaugural sponsor in $1 million-plus NRL deal

Insurance provider Budget Direct has signed as the inaugural sponsor of the NRL’s newest team, the Perth Bears, in a deal estimated to be worth more than $1 million.

The Perth Bears will join the NRL as its 18th team in 2027 and are preparing to go to market to secure players in November. Perth Bears chief executive Anthony De Ceglie said the club’s first commercial deal – its sleeves partner – sets a new NRL record.
