Alicia Baumgardner Vacates WBC Super Featherweight Title
The WBC has been informed that Alicia Baumgardner has decided to vacate her WBC super featherweight world title.
Baumgardner captured the Green and Gold Belt in 2021 by knocking out Terri Harper and successfully defended it six times. She also defeated other champions to become the undisputed Suprema of the division.
Throughout her reign, the WBC has supported Baumgardner and now wishes her the greatest success in her future, both inside and outside the ring.
Alicia herself stated:
“I respect the WBC and want to thank them for all the support they have given me throughout my career. Becoming their champion was a career-defining honor, and I look forward to and plan to one day fight for a WBC belt again. For now, I am focused on continuing to break barriers for women’s boxing and showing the world that we are every bit as capable as men when we step between the ropes.”
