About the Event
The Battle of the Badges is a friendly, amateur boxing showcase featuring first responders from across the community—Firefighters, Police Officers, EMS, and Military personnel—stepping into the ring for a great cause.
All proceeds benefit Martial Arts for Kids (501c3) and other local first responder–approved charities.
Call for Participants
Bayou Fighting Championship is actively seeking first responders to join the competition. This is your chance to represent your squad, bring out family and friends, and support vital community organizations.
Key Participation Details:
Fully insured event with ringside physicians and EMS staff
Supervised by licensed Louisiana Boxing, Wrestling, and MMA officials
Open to male and female participants of all ages
Bouts matched by age and weight (no more than 10 lbs. difference)
Standard rules: 3 rounds, 1:15 each
Required protective gear: 16 oz. gloves, wraps, headgear, cup, and mouthpiece
Not intended for advanced boxing/MMA athletes – focus is on safe, fun, family-friendly competition
Local boxing gyms offering free training for participants
Official weigh-ins: Friday, October 31, 2025
