Pablo Laso will be commentating on the Spanish broadcast of the Supercopa Endesa 2025, as announced on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old tactician will be joined by former player Victor Claver on the DAZN coverage of the upcoming four-team tournament. At Malaga’s Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena, Unicaja will take on Valencia, and Real Madrid will face La Laguna Tenerife on Saturday, with the winners meeting each other in the Final on Sunday.
If he remains in the coaching free-agent market, Laso is expected to continue as a color commentator for selected fixtures on the rest of the 2025-26 schedule.
After the end of his playing days in 2003, he briefly served in a similar role on Spanish television before focusing on a head-coaching career.
Following spells with Ceramica Leoni Castellon, Pamesa Valencia, Cantabria Lobos, Bruesa GBC / Lagun Aro GBC, he moved to Real Madrid in 2011 and stayed until 2022. Reuniting with his former team as a player between 1995 and 1997, he guided Los Blancos to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship in 2015 and 2018, besides receiving the Alexander Gomelsky EuroLeague Coach of the Year award in the same years. He also won six ACB, six Copa del Rey, and seven Supercopa championships.
After a one-year break, the Vitoria-Gasteiz native coached FC Bayern Munich in the 2023-24 campaign and hometown Baskonia in the 2024-25 campaign.
Following his latest departure from a EuroLeague team, he was linked to the senior national team of Spain, but Chus Mateo was recently named the new head coach.
