TRIPLE Eight Race Engineering will reach a special milestone when the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 gets underway.

This year’s Great Race will double as the 300th Supercars Championship round in Triple Eight’s storied history.

It will become the fifth team to hit the triple ton, following Dick Johnson Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Brad Jones Racing and Tickford Racing.

For the Brisbane squad, that journey began with the 2003 Sandown 500 after a mid-season takeover of Briggs Motorsport.

Remarkably, Triple Eight has since tallied 276 race wins – including 10 in the Bathurst 1000.

Team manager Mark Dutton was coy when asked by V8 Sleuth at The Bend if there’ll be any 300th celebrations at the Mountain.

“Wait and see,” he smiled.

Triple Eight will field three Camaros in its final Bathurst 1000 tilt before trading Chevrolet for Ford, with Will Brown and Scott Pye sharing the #1, Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup in the #88, and Craig Lowndes and Zach Bates in the #888.

It will be the final chapter of the 21-year Lowndes/Triple Eight relationship, with the icon moving to Team 18 alongside wildcard sponsor Supercheap Auto for 2026.
