Star English playmaker Mikey Lewis is set to light up Allegiant Stadium next February with Hull KR after agreeing to a new five-year deal with the Super League minor premiers.

Lewis, who is aiming to help Hull KR to complete the Super League-Challenge Cup double, has rejected NRL offers to remain at Sewell Group Craven Park until the end of the 2030 season.

After winning the 2024 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel for a stand-out season in which he steered Hull KR to a maiden Super League grand final, Lewis is in contention to become just the third player to receive the award twice.

The 24-year-old has been nominated for the 2025 Man of Steel along with Wigan’s Jai Field and Jake O’Connor of Leeds Rhinos, who will play Hull KR in Las Vegas on February 28.

The Super League match will be played before the NRL double-header featuring the Cowboys v Knights and Bulldogs v Dragons season opening fixtures.

Hull KR coach Willie Peters said signing Lewis on a long-term deal was significant for Hull KR and Super League.

“It’s important for clubs to keep their up-and-coming stars over here with the expansion of the NRL,” Peters said.

“When players like Mikey do commit to their club for five years, you can’t understate how important that is.

“Mikey has finalised this deal on the back of looking at everything in his life, it’s not only about him now but it’s about his little boy. That shows how far Mikey has come with his personal growth and his maturity.”

On the international stage, Lewis is expected to be part of the upcoming Ashes campaign against the Kangaroos after helping England to series wins over Tonga in 2023 and Samoa in 2024.

He made a significant impact in both series openers, scoring a try in each to give the Lions the edge in the contests.

Mikey Lewis Try

Lewis burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old stand-off in 2019, known for his electric pace and off the cuff attacking style.

In 2025, he has helped fire the Robins to a Challenge Cup with the mercurial stand-off firing over the match-winning conversion for the side to claim their first major trophy in 40 years.

Since winning the Cup, Lewis has helped push the Red and Whites to their first League Title since 1985 as Hull KR finished the 2025 Betfred Super League season in first position on 44 points, their highest total in the modern era.

Lewis will now look to help the Robins reach their second Betfred Super League grand final in as many years.

“There’s been a massive turnaround at this club and I want to continue to be a part of that journey,” Lewis told the Hull KR website.

“I feel like the east side of Hull have really brought me in as one of my own. The city and the club mean everything to me.

“I want to create my own legacy here at Hull KR and win trophies with the team I’ve got around me. I don’t see why we can’t do that and create our own legacy as a team.

“We want to win as much as we can. Being able to do that and come out and train and play with your best mates is a dream.

“Over the next five years I just want to keep building on this year, we’ve been building over the last two or three years now.

“We want to be up there every year competing for trophies in finals. I want to make sure I don’t leave anything on the field.”
